DRAGON AND HORSE

DRAGON AND HORSE

In Romanian and Hungarian folktales, the dragon is a powerful, often fearsome creature, serpentine or winged, guarding treasures or capturing maidens, embodying chaos and trials the hero must overcome. In contrast, the horse is a loyal, almost magical companion—wise, strong, and sometimes enchanted—guiding and helping the hero with insight, speed, and devotion. Together, they represent the struggle between danger and guidance, darkness and faithful support in the journey of the hero.
